The founder Ernst Schöni has always been committed to sustainable agriculture. In 1955, he launched the first reformed sauerkraut according to the guidelines of Dr. Hans Müller and thus became an organic pioneer, long before the term organic even existed.
Shortly after the founding of VSBLO (today Bio Suisse), Schöni became one of the first licensees for organic products with the bud as a label. Even today, sustainability and innovative spirit are values that the fourth generation of Schöni continues to cultivate and live by.
